About Us

South Florida Jewish Chorale's Journey

Formerly known as the Second Avenue Jewish Chorale, the South Florida Jewish Chorale has been enriching the South Florida community with quality Jewish choral music for almost a decade. The choir's mission has remained true through its years: to preserve, promote, and perform Jewish choral music in and around our communities.

Our ensemble is comprised of singers from all faith backgrounds, various walks of life, and various musical journeys from beginner to professional skill levels. We convene and find community in our mutual love of this music, and pride ourselves in our "SFJC Family."

In South Florida, SFJC has been invited to perform for a myriad of events and services, both sacred and secular. Highlights include the Miami Jewish Film Festival, collaborations with the University of Miami Frost School of Music, interfaith concerts with local religious organizations, and serving as musical tribute for Holocaust memorial services around Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

SFJC is committed to providing an entertaining and educational experience for its audiences. Each concert is filled with music from the sacred tradition, secular folk songs, and popular music from Gershwin to Berlin to film scores.

In August of 2020, we welcomed Alexandra Colaizzi, a former member of the ensemble and assistant conductor to founder Dr. Coreen Duffy, as our new Artistic Director.

Please reach out for more information on our group and membership, and feel free to peruse our social media and YouTube pages to hear us! We can't wait to perform for you soon.
